Our Gardens

I have been wanting to plant some flowers out front in our flower beds for some time now. But surprise time got away from me, a newborn does that to you. I decided that on Earth Day we'd get started, but then Arya got sick, so we put it off till the weekend. We decided to not only plant the flowers out front, but to plant a small garden out back. We are going to attempt (I don't claim to have any gardening ability) to grow cantaloupe, corn, peppers and pumpkins. I will be so happy if anything actually grows.Arya helped Mike rake away the rocks. She helped me plant all the seeds and plant some flower pots too. She also watered the seeds with her new watering can. She can't wait to see some plants growing, she asked the next morning if her plants were growing yet. It is very hard to wait, she checks on them everyday.
We even found a garden friend, a big garden snail.

Splash Park

The temperature here is rising. We had a week of high 90s and even into the 100s. I am not ready for summer, luckily it is not suppose to stay this hot just yet. We did take advantage of the warm day by going to the splash park. Arya and Sophia had tons of fun playing in the water. I'm sure we will be going back again soon!

Easter 2009

We had a wonderful Easter. When Arya woke up she got to look for Easter eggs the Easter bunny left for her. Then Arya went through her Easter basket and helped Lyra look in hers. We went over to Cheryl's house for lunch and more egg hunts.

Lyra 3 months old

My little baby just keeps getting bigger, how do we slow that down. She is very "chatty" and she started to giggle (there is no better sound) I love it. She is up to 12 lbs. 8 oz. and 25 inches long, which is almost identical to where Arya was. Lyra love to watch Arya run around and Arya loves to give Lyra kisses. They are both such cuties

Sticker Art

Arya and Sophia's sticker art. I cleaned out some of my scrapbook stuff and gave it to them to play with. They had fun for a week playing with the stickers and I spent the week picking stickers off the couch, the floor and the wall.

Another Windy Day

We have had a very windy spring. Mike and Arya have had a lot of fun flying their kites this spring. Today Mike came home early and we took all the girls out to fly the kites. Lyra even enjoyed watching, she likes to watch the girls more than the kites though.

There was a little problem. One of the kites got stuck in a tree. Arya and Sophia tried to help get it out by jumping as high as they could. They also tried to help Mike shake it out of the tree. Mike had to throw the kite box up in the tree to knock it out.

My Budding Photographer

I love to take pictures and I take a lot of them. Arya has picked up on it, too. Every time I take out the camera, Arya wants to take some pictures too. Luckily my second camera is pretty indestructible. She has learned how to hold the camera so she doesn't take a picture of her fingers. She also is working on making sure she sees your face when she takes her pictures, no more headless mommy. Here are some of her recent pictures.

Neighborhood Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood had a egg hunt for all the kids around. Arya and the other under 3 crowd hunted around with their baskets finding Easter Eggs. She had fun looking for eggs and playing at the park.

Rolling Over

Lyra rolled over today! She was on her tummy one second and the next she was on her back. I think she thought it was fun. She had a big smile on her face. She did it over and over again. Enough that I could even video tape her. Arya wouldn't ever roll over when I had a video camera in hand, she always waited until I put it down.
