Lyra's first trip to the zoo

Today we took Lyra to the zoo for the first time. She loved it so much she slept pretty much the entire time, except when she needed to eat.
Arya also loved going. The first thing she said when she woke up this morning is, "Are we going to the zoo now?" She loves to see all the animals, especially the giraffes. They are always front and center when we visit. She also loves to pet the goats in the children's zoo.
Arya had to have a map when we got there so she could show us where to go and where we've been. It was also the first thing she showed her daddy when he came home from work.

What a pretty baby.

I know I am a little biased, but I think Lyra is such a pretty baby. She is also very sweet and good natured. Mike and I are very lucky!

They grow up so fast.

After having Lyra, Arya now seems so much bigger. She is not our little baby anymore. She is a big girl and she'll let you know it if you say other wise. We were at Olive Garden and a woman, said to her daughter, "there is another little Girl over there." and Arya comes back with, "I am not a little girl I am a big girl!"

She and Mike were out in the backyard recently and Mike took a picture of Arya similar to one we took when she was 4 months old. It seems like it was just yesterday. She is growing up way too fast.

1 Month Old

Lyra is now 1 month old. She is getting bigger, she is 22 inches long and she weighs 9 lbs 8 oz. She is a really good baby. She doesn't fuss too much, except when she has to get in her car seat. She is doing very good at night, she still wakes up every 3 hours to eat, but she goes right back to sleep when she is done. Arya likes having a baby sister and Arya can't wait for Lyra to play with her.

Here is Arya at 1 month old.

Why?

Arya has started the "why?" stage. Why does Lyra need to eat? Why do I have to take a nap? Why is daddy at work? Why do I have to wear pants? Why can't I have a lollipop for breakfast? Why am I a girl? ??? She doesn't stop. I must answer hundreds of questions a day! I just have one more, How long does this stage last?
